Ceptile Terms of Service

Effective Date: September 2026 • Version 2.4. Please review these Terms of Service carefully before utilizing the Ceptile AI Search Engine or research tools provided by Ceptile (accessible at ceptile.com).

You Own Your Research

You retain complete ownership over the prompts you submit and the synthesis answers generated for your work.

Open Core Engine

Standard web queries, news search, and image retrieval are accessible without mandatory paid subscriptions.

Anti-Scraping & Fair Use

Ceptile cannot be weaponized for unauthorized scraping, distributed denial-of-service, or automated bot spam.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing, browsing, registering for, or otherwise utilizing Ceptile ("the Service", "we", "us", or "our"), you confirm that you have read, understood, and unconditionally agree to be legally bound by these Terms of Service, along with our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to every provision contained herein, you must immediately terminate use of the Service.

2. Scope of Ceptile Services

Ceptile operates an AI-native search engine designed to index the open internet, synthesize real-time answers, execute multi-turn conversational follow-ups, and automate deep multi-query research investigations. The Service includes web search, news aggregation, image discovery, video feeds, community forum insights, and specialized search tools.

We reserve the right to evolve, update, enhance, or temporarily modify specific features or engine parameters without prior liability, provided core functionality remains accessible to users in accordance with these Terms.

3. User Accounts & Responsibilities

While Ceptile can be used anonymously without an account, creating a Ceptile Account enables cross-device conversation synchronization, bookmarks, and personalized memory preferences:

  • Accuracy of Credentials: You agree to provide a valid email address and maintain the confidentiality of your password.
  • Account Security: You are solely responsible for all activities occurring under your account. If you suspect unauthorized access, you must notify our security team immediately at support@ceptile.com.
  • Age Requirement: You must be at least 13 years of age (or the minimum legal age in your jurisdiction) to create an account.

4. Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)

Strictly Prohibited Activities:
  • Automated Scraping of Ceptile: You may not use scrapers, spiders, or headless browsers to extract Ceptile's synthesized responses, ranking models, or proprietary UI components without explicit written authorization.
  • Infrastructure Abuse: Engaging in Denial of Service (DoS/DDoS) attacks, brute-force password guessing, or intentional server overload is prohibited and reported to law enforcement.
  • Malicious Prompt Injection: You may not submit prompts engineered to exploit underlying language models, generate malware, facilitate cyberattacks, or produce illegal exploitation materials.
  • Reverse Engineering: Decompiling, reverse engineering, or attempting to reconstruct the proprietary source code of Ceptile's reranking algorithms is strictly forbidden.

5. Intellectual Property & Outputs

User Ownership: As between you and Ceptile, you own all rights, title, and interest in the research queries and prompts you submit. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Ceptile assigns to you all rights in the output text synthesized in direct response to your queries.

Platform IP: The Ceptile brand, trademarks, logo iconography, frontend design assets, and backend orchestrator architecture remain the exclusive intellectual property of Ceptile and its licensors.

Third-Party Content: Information retrieved from the live web belongs to the respective copyright holders. Ceptile extracts only short, transformative, fair-use factual snippets to cite evidence and routes traffic directly back to original publishers.

6. AI Reasoning & Citation Disclaimer

Ceptile is designed to dramatically minimize hallucinations through live multi-source verification and RAG architecture. However, artificial intelligence outputs are generated probabilistically and may occasionally reflect inaccuracies or biases present on the public internet:

Crucial Advisory: Ceptile outputs do not constitute professional medical, legal, structural, or financial advice. Always verify critical facts against the original source citations provided with each answer before making consequential decisions.

7. Fair Use, Rate Limits & Quotas

To maintain lightning-fast response times for all users globally, Ceptile implements automated edge rate limiting. If an IP address or account exceeds reasonable human usage patterns (e.g. hundreds of automated queries per minute), requests may be throttled or temporarily challenged with security verifications.

9. Limitation of Liability & Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

IN NO EVENT SHALL CEPTILE, ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES RESULTING FROM YOUR ACCESS TO OR INABILITY TO ACCESS THE SERVICE, ANY ERRORS IN SEARCH RESULTS, OR UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS TO YOUR ACCOUNT.

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Ceptile and its affiliates from and against any third-party claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and reasonable legal expenses arising out of your violation of these Terms or your unlawful use of the Service.

11. Termination & Account Cancellation

You may discontinue using Ceptile at any time. You may permanently delete your account and all associated research threads directly via Settings. Ceptile reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that persistently violate our Acceptable Use Policy without prior notice.

12. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws applicable to internet services, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms shall first be addressed through informal, good-faith negotiation.

13. Modifications to Terms

We may revise these Terms periodically to reflect updates in search technologies, legal requirements, or new features. Material modifications will be posted prominently on ceptile.com with an updated version timestamp. Continued use of the Service following revisions constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
